Production of quick release ball joint ø800

We can’t look into a crystal ball, but when we build it from steel we can make some predictions.

Like for this Quick Release Ball Joint ø800, which we finished last week after a successful final acceptance test with our client. This special ball joint will be used on an advanced diamond recovery vessel, and we predict it will be there for a long time .

This product is designed to create an easy and safe connection between a dredging vessel and the floating pipeline. Hydraulic cylinders operate the quick-release ball joint to release the floating pipeline smoothly. Under a pressure of 10 Bar, this ball joint can tilt 15° and rotate 360° freely. It is often used on a cutter suction dredger and is regularly ordered with our well-known ball turning gland.

These types of ball joints are completely designed, developed, and produced at Straatman Dredging & Construction facilities in Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands.
