Dredging Joints & Equipment
In 1965, we entered the dredging market by developing a steel plate ball joint for floating pipelines in cooperation with the dredging company Bos & Kalis. This company also ordered the first drag heads. Through the years, we developed our dredging components program and we now supply products all over the world. With an experience of more than 65 years of continuous product improvement, we meet the requirements of our customers worldwide and have gained a reputation for capability and reliability.
One of our best-known products is the bow discharge installation. It is a bow coupling installation designed for hopper dredgers.
With this installation, a quick connection can be made between the ship and the floating pipeline. With this solution, we created a completely new and very effective way of land reclamation in the dredging industry. Since 1984, we have delivered hundreds of bow coupling installations all over the world.
Special Dredging equipment
In addition to our well-known bow couplings, turning glands and ball joints, Straatman also develops its own jet water monitors and supplies cold-pressed bends. Together, these products form a solid and proven portfolio for dredging applications.
With a wide range of in-house machinery, we are able to deliver custom-made products and special designs.
This allows us to support our clients with practical, tailored solutions that fit their dredging operations and project requirements.
Spares & Maintenance
At Straatman, we maintain an extensive and well-organised archive of our dredging equipment projects. This allows us to supply spare and wear parts long after a vessel was built.
Even if a ship has changed owners over the years, we can still trace the original equipment. When a replacement part is needed, we quickly retrieve the relevant specifications.
